92_rugby_subie
Anyone thought of doing the Frankenmotor with the H6's? Theres the 2.7 H6, 3.0 H6, 3.3 H6 and now 3.6 H6... Would it produce the same "power gain" for these motors as the 2.5/2.2 combo? I tried looking it up, but havent really found much, maybe Im using the wrong search terms.... I think itd be awesome I want an H6 in my garage someday...
Fairtax4me
The old 3.3 has belt driven cams, the new ones are chain driven. Maybe 3.0 heads on a 3.6 block would produce some change in hp. Would be interesting to know combustion chamber sizes and "flow rates". Didn't know about any 2.7. Where was it used?
obk25xt
Didn't know about any 2.7. Where was it used? XT6, I believe it was designated an "ER" making it an ER27.

Numbchux
Only possibility would be with the EZ family, and even then, probably only with the "DR" motors ('05+ 3.0 and 3.6), not the 30D. And these motors already have variable valve timing and such, so they have gobs of power. The EG and ER engines were completely different (like, the combustion chambers wouldn't even slightly line up).

kiwi subbie
All the EZ series are different. EZ30D EZ30R and EZ36. EZ30D and R timing covers are different and wont fit on each other. EZ30 parts wont fit on EZ36. I saw that they compaired all 3 motors on the NAISOC 6 cylinder thread.

natext6
The ER27 was an EA82 with 2 more cylinders jacked on to the back. The EG33 was an EJ22 with 2 more cylinders that used unreleased EJ25*D* parts. Edited April 8, 2012 by natext6
Numbchux
unreleased EJ257 parts. like what? I can't think of a single similarity specifically with a
987687
maybe 25d parts. It has dual cam and the stupid bucket shims like the 25d. But the dual cam system doesn't work the same as the 25d one does.
natext6
like what? I can't think of a single similarity specifically with a 257 I wasn't thinking, I looked back into the literature that I found my info in, and it definitely says 25d:-p, my mistake. And the parts have to do with the valvetrain. Edited April 8, 2012 by natext6
