bans25
Hi all, 93 Subaru Legacy 2.2 and it will not start.. ran rough then quit (I wasnt driving it at the time) I believe its the cam or crank sensor.. The timing belt looks to be turning when I crank over. Is there anyway to test the crank and cam sensor? Also why are the 90-93 cam and crank sensors expensive and the 94+ are much lower priced? Can the later ones be used in the earlier cars? If not where is the best place ($) to buy new sensors? thanks all!
Legacy777
You can d/l the service manual from me, which has the test procedure for both. http://www.main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/1992_FSM_(Engine_&_Electrical)/ As for why the 94 is more expensive, I'm not sure why. You can try posting something in the wanted section. Someone may have some spare sensors that would work for you.
trevorno
I bought 3 sensors for my '90 legacy for $10 at a pull & save. Sure beats $450 at autozone.
