shrapnel
Last night on the highway, I had the cruise control set at 70 mph when the check engine light went on and the cruise shut off, but the cruise light kept blinking. I checked the fuse behind the coin box, but it was not blown. The guy at autozone used the code checker under the steering column, but it was not working, so I checked the main fuse in the engine bay and that was not blown either. Any thoughts? davebugs
Did the ABS light come on?
brus brother
Need to check for codes again. Not sure why connector not working but as soon as a code is thrown on my 05 Outback, check engine light comes on and cruise is disabled (light blinking). My code is unrelated to cruise. Usually P0420 catalytic converter blah blah blah.
shrapnel
No, the ABS light did not come on. The engine sounds and runs fine.
davebugs
You need to spend 50 bucks n an ODB2 reader and/or try having it reread again. A reader pays for itself rather quickly and will work on basically all cars since 95/96 and is a wise investment. There should be a code when the CEL comes on, and sometimes there will be a "pending" code even when CEL isn't on. About the only codes that will clear themselves it seems are sometimes O2 sensors and "catalyst effieciency" codes, and EVAP codes (like loose gas cap). 987687
Cruise is always disabled for CELs on the 05+ cars. It's Subaru's way of being obnoxious and making you take it in to be fixed.
