orangegoblin
Hello from OZ! I bought an EA81 engine from a parts yard the other day, and while I was cleaning it down I noticed it had "OHC" stamped on the head just under the EA81 stamp. It's definitely an Ea81 OHV engine. Has anyone ever seen this? What's the deal?

Dr. RX
Looks more like part of a casting number, since it is stamped into the same place the engine number is stamped.
Ratty2Austin
howabout a pic of the engine as a whole? maybe we can see if the whole thing looks different...
orangegoblin
The engine looks the same as my other ea81, but i'll post some piccies anyway. It's a bit funny that they chose "ohc" as a casting code, don't you think? Is it possible to put ohv heads on an ohc block? I've had the engine running, it sounds fine. Also, my other ea81 doesn't have any letters on it, just numbers. Does the ea82 have ohc stamped there?
