mikec03
Are all the bolts on a subaru the 10.9 strength? I know that the bolts holding on the calipers are 10.9. I could only find replacement for them at the subaru dealer. Now, I have a number of rusted out bolts in the rear crossmember area. Are all these 10.9 too? The hardware bolts are only 8.8's. WoodsWagon
I can tell you subaru and honda bolts are a lot higher quality than Toyota bolts. If you crank too hard on a subaru or honda bolt it will usually strip the threads of what it's going into. Toyota bolts shear if you put just a little extra torque on them. Working on a rusty Toyota is a mess of sheared bolts.
Fairtax4me
Depends on the size of the bolt, But most of the larger bolts should be 10.9. Go to Fastenal or another fastener store for metric hardware. Most local hardware places are useless for metric stuff, especially 10.9.

987687
When I go to the junk yard I pull every bolt I can get to that's in decent condition. The yard usually gives me a hand full of bolts for a couple bucks. Hell of a lot cheaper than buying them one at a time from the dealer or hardware store. I pull bolts from the junkyard too, but we haven't much rust here in Colorado. Also, there is a AAA Metric in Denver. Good source for new metric, but I don't know if they do online/mail order sales.
