Omegabontakun Posted April 4, 2012 Share Posted April 4, 2012 Hey there new here First off i have a P1422 witch is a evap purge control solenoid high input. don't know what it means this is after replacing the old one with the new cause my old one the nipples broke and well had to replace. went to Subaru dealer bought new one compared it with the old one looks the same. installed new solenoid with new vacuum hoses bottom nipple goes to intake and top nipple to evap line reset power on car by taking terminals on battery waited 10 mins re attacked terminals. all seams good drove the car around no (CEL) check engine light. after going to store back to turning my car one the CEL came on orialy auto was near by when to get a scan P1442 came on im like no way the solenoid is new so took car to auto-zone for second opinion check the code same p1422. i checked my lines for cracks air leeks reset power again CEL when away then came up after a drive. is the solenoid faulty does it stay stuck i don't know i don't have the tools necessary to check what u guys think any input is appreciated. ocei77 Posted April 5, 2012 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Question. Did you replace the unit that is on the back of the intake manifold?, and did you specify purge control when purchasing? There is a vent control which looks exactly the same for many models, but mounted on the strut tower. The impedances of these unit are different. O. Omegabontakun Posted April 9, 2012 Author Share Posted April 9, 2012 oh hey thanks for the response but actually the check engine light when away yea of course i had to reset the power quiet a few times an another thing i was looking at some forums on purge control solenoid see the top nipple goes into the vacuum line and the bottom goes to the intake so i flipped the hoses top to bottom, bottom to top reset car and no CEL. the forum was for Subaru wrx and sti so yea subaru dealer gave me a different solenoid for different car unless im wrong?. other than than that it no more CEL Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
