wagonlover Posted April 5, 2012 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Just to start off, my car is a 1988 Subaru Gl-10 wagon, TWO WHEEL DRIVE, auto trans. Today me and my Dad found out that the current replacement drive shaft on the front drivers side was just tearing up the differential on my car and when we went to the parts store to get a new one, they tried to give us one that was almost an inch longer than the first replacement and then when we checked the one we were replacing, it was about 1/4" too long. For us to get our money back, we need proof of what length the axle should be, does anyone know where to find any old subaru specs out there? Turbo cars have 25spline axles and N/A cars have 23spline. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=2977926 Compressed Length is 27-1/4" Personally, you should not have to show proof that it is the correct part or not to return it. If they will not give you your money back without proof, I would get loud when other customers are in there, cause they will do anything to get you to leave the store, they will refund your money ASAP. I did this for a BMW part at AutoZone once, they gave me a part for a Ford and said it was correct. I got loud, 5min later I have my money back. Im just going to use the money to try to buy a wrecked one or one with a blown motor so I can just have everything I need, tranny, clutch, flywheel ect. Another question for anyone, im new to the website so I dont know how to navigate it too well but eventually Im thinking about putting an intercooler on my car and a hoodscoop but im not sure how to go about that.
