shadman
Hey All, I have never had a Soob before and I have some questions. 1. where is the oil sending unit? 2. How difficult is it to change out the clutch? 3. What is the lug pattern size? 13's are getting hard to come by. Might want to chage to a different rim size.. 4. I may have some cruise control questions later..LOL This is a really cool little car! Thanks in advance for any info and guidance!! Shad

Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Welcome! Those Old School Subarus are Awesome Cars, but the Rim Question is a Li'l bit Difficult, due to the Lug Pattern they have: 4X140 it is a non common pattern and has few aftermarket support; 4X140 could be found on old Peugeout cars mostly (14" and 15" in Steel and Mag Rims) and Renault (13" and 14") and some other cars came with 4X140 but they are Rare. The Cheapest and most usual Solution is to Redrill the Hubs to fit a 6 Lug Rim, because two of the four lugs are already in position (Diagonal) for that. I Kindly Suggest you to use the Search Function from this Forum. We Love Pictures here... so Could you Post Pics of your Subie? Kind Regards. Shad The oil sending unit is on the oil pump at the front of the engine. The oil filter screws onto the pump, facing the engine to your left there should be a wire coming off. That's the sending unit. Clutch is easy to change out. You can either pull the engine or drop the tranny. No way is better, my person preference is pulling the engine because I hate working under the car.
shadman
Thanks for the info. Was looking at drilling the hubs to fit a 6 lug rim. Is there a template anywhere as a guide as to where to drill? Shad

Shad If you want to re-drill the hubs, punch two opposite studs out, and bolt up a wheel. Two will match the wheel pattern. Then just drill the rest. TheLoyale
Here is a good thread about drilling Wheels and Hubs, good ideas to be had there. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=131874

shadman
Well, the oil pressure sending unit is gone. Looks like Some plugged the access hole with a drain plug. What color should the wire be that goes to the unit? I need to test out the gauge... Now I need to change out the t-stat.
987687
Mine is black because it leaks so much oil... hah. Tomorrow I'll go investigate for an actual wire colour. If you have a gauge, the sender should be a big cylinder screwed into the pump with a tab off it for the connector.
