On my impreza i keep getting a harsh vibration in drive holding the brake at idle. Only feel it in the floor and pedals. Nothing else. Its worse on hills. I dont see what effect that has tho. Im going to check all my vacuum hoses tomorrow. And motor mounts. My idle is around 600.

Auto Trans, I take it?

Pretty common on the auto's. Does it go away if you shift into park or Neutral?

Some have reduced the problem by replacing the half shafts with MWE or factory axles as some of the remans are not the best.

Your Subaru just wants to go!

Yea its auto. Ive got original axles. So theyre 17 years and 130k miles. Theyre about gone. It does go away as soon as u shift into neutral or let off the brake. But are subaru oem axles 7x aftermarket price? New aftermarket is 65. I know most dealers charge 500+ for an axle you can get for 110 at the auto store.

there are many threads and many different opinions/experiences across the 3 forums I keep up with about axles.

do a search for axle threads

The only consistent trend you find from reading is that, typical rebuilds from local parts stores seem to be the riskiest for exhibiting problems for people.

Forget new OEM axles. Call Marshall Wolf at MWE in Denver--his remans are excellent and at a reasonable price.
