i have a 95 impreza i just put sll new brake fluid in, bled the lines and my pedals to the floor, the breaks work just not well, the brakes in the front a a little over half worn, idk about the back, could this be the issue? The pedal doesnt drop if i hold it there, but yea, any help would be appreciated and i can give more info if needed

Not sure if i understand entire post. If pedal goes to the floor or more than 1/2 way before grabbing there is still air in the line. Rebleed in a cross pattern.

If pedal goes and holds, but very little stopping power, more than likely your calipers are sticking.

Are the surfaces of the rotors where the pads touch shiny all the way around?, probably not.

Remove the pins on each side (note that they are different top and bottom, and that one has an o ring on it). Clean and lube, then replace and see if this helps.

Then adivse.

O.

if the pedal is dropping to the floor, there is either air in the lines - it can take quite a bit of bleeding to completely purge the system if air got in there - or you could possibly have a vacuum problem related to the booster.

the calipers "sticking" would not cause a pedal drop problem - quite the opposite actually.

Well the rear is drum brakes, and i bled it a few times and havent found any air, my brakes were like this before i bled and there no better, put a resevior size of fluid through each line atleast startin with front right, rear left, front left, rear right

Let me guess. Tell me if i am wrong.

You bled the brake system using a freind. Your freind pumped the pedal to the floor a few times, then held it there while you let the air out.

Am I close?

Did you start with (if you have ABS) the left front, then right rear, then left rear, then right front ( I think that is the pattern). The wheel that is physically the closest to the master cyilnder, is not really. The ABS pump is on the right side of the car, so the brake lines have to go from the left of the car, to the right side abs, and back to the left,

It is quite possible the MC was damaged by pumping it all the way to the floor. After a billion storkes, some ridge develops in the bore. Since normally the pistons dont travle beyond that it doesnt mean anything. But with a manual bleeding it MAY (not will) damage the cups by going past the point.

A repeatedly goofy pedal that you can pump up and get to stay put can be a MC if:

rear drums are properly adjusted.

Front calipers are not seized. Either one of these can make for a goofy pedal. I would go ahead and replace the front pads, clean the sliders, and then see what happens.

Yea but i have no abs

I have pads but i have to re order new rotors because i got the ones for a 4wd with 14in rims instead of 2wd 13in rims, so im goin to drive it like that until the new rotors come it, because my are crappy, and i will get new drums and shoes aswell, hopefully its not my mc, but i think there cheap at my local junk yard and theres plenty there so im sure i can find one if needed

It could be, do i only have to worry about the line goin to the brake booster?

while that is the primary connection/concern, depending on condition - the booster itself could be suspect, as can other vacuum lines.

when vacuum lines get hard - which happens with heat and age, they can easily crack, and/or dont seal well, causing leaks in the system. check them all over, any hard/brittle ones should be replaced.

If that does not solve the issue, then I would be highly suspicious of the booster itself - while not common, they do occasionally fail.

I checked all my vaccum lines and they seem good, but i got in my friends car to move it the other day after he dropped an engine in and he for got to put the brake booster hose on and it was really hard to press the brakes, i dont have that problem, mineis super easy to push
