man on the moon
I could have sworn the chart in my Chilton's lists it as 27-42 or so (off the top of my head). I'll pull it out of the back of the car tomorrow and double check--my memory could be way off if it doesn't top 30!
Craigsti
the reason i ask all the web sites i have looked at say the pumps work at 1.5 - 3 psi
The FNG
I think there is a difference between carbed and SPFI fuel pumps. I could be wrong, but I think the carbed runs at a lower psi and if you have a 93 Loyale, you would have SPFI
Prwa101
Yeah that would be the carbs that runs that low. Yours is a spfi for sure. Ive worked on several. Having a problem with th fuel pump?
GeneralDisorder
~21 psi. 1.5 to 3 is for carbs - which were discontinued after '87. GD
Craigsti
hello i was looking at this pump and wanted to see if you guys thin it would work http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DFP-FD0002/
Quidam
That Summit pump is for carbs I believe. I recently had to do some looking around for a Loyale pump. The SPFI Airtex pump is about $200.00, and has a max psi of about 60 or so. Northern Auto Parts lists the replacement pump for the MPFI cars for about $130.00, and they have a max psi of 95. It's physically larger than the SPFI pump tho and won't bolt into the fuel pump tray bracket strap. It's the least expensive new pump I've found for these cars recently. Doug Loyale SPFI pump on the left, MPFI Turbo pump on the right. Edited April 24, 2012 by Quidam
Quidam
Anyone have a link for a Walbro pump that will do for a SPFI Loyale? Anyone have a good used pump to offer the OP? I have a friend that needs a fuel pump for her Loyale so I'll get in line behind the OP with that fuel pump request. Doug

Speedwagon
What years to look for? Or a Ranger pump(though they are technically the same thing I believe). I got one off Rockauto for $40. It was for a 1987 Ranger 2.3 FI. They had in tank low pressure, and frame rail high pressure pumps. The hose size is 5/16 on both sides I believe.
