This looks important, but it has a hole in it

Well I guess I can tell you less than nothing. I would say it had a vacume fitting where the hole is. I think it is maybe part of the choke pulloff. I have a few old EA-81 motors sitting around that may have some of the wierd parts you are finding. If you need anything send me a picture and I will try to find it. If I have it, you can have it for the shipping. Carl

That assembly is the idle-up for the factory air conditioner. When the a/c compressor kicks in, vacuum is applied from a solenoid sitting with relays on the passenger strut tower to the unit (where you are currently looking at a hole) which then tugs the accelerator cable slightly to increase idle speed while the compressor is running.
