Tex_williams77
Are there any mods or body kits out there for a '90 Loyale. Just wanting to find something that can help the looks of the front bumper. Looks like they gave it Botox at the factory...
tractor pole
85-86 GL front bumpers are considerably shorter than the later models. I am doing this exactthing to my 91. As far as bosy kits you could use one off of an RX.
Subruise
i wonder if late 80s maxima body kits would work. i say one at the jy the other day, shoulda busted out my tape measure
92_rugby_subie
The 86 GL bumper is still big. I don't like it. If you do though lemme know amd I may just swap you. Thinking I will just have a flat bumper made so lays flush with body lines and call it done
Subruise
you could also puncture the pistons to push the bumper closer to flush. my brother did it w his scirocco. just remember to screw/bolt it in that position
6 Star
you could also puncture the pistons to push the bumper closer to flush. my brother did it w his scirocco. just remember to screw/bolt it in that position EA/Leones don't use pistons in the brackets like VW's. Its just straight bolted to the unibody. I vote for the '85-'86 EA82 bumper as well. It has flush turn signals and in my opinion looks better than the post '87 "facelift" bumpers. 81EA81
As far as looks go Id stay with the earlier styling. but I dont drive an old Subaru for looks:) I know the earlier styling(85-86) are much weaker and just consist of a plastic cap clipped onto a thin metal frame, however 87- and on have an impact absorbing foam core and seem much sturdier. yes they are more shelf like but im sure in was an "upgrade" for a reason. l75eya
87- and on have an impact absorbing foam core and seem much sturdier. I think it's 88 and on, as my 87 GL does still have the better looking bumpers. As far as the impact absorbing foam core goes, when the Loyale ran into a honda last month, the foam didn't absorb sh**. As a matter of fact, the bumper didn't absorb ANY of the impact, it literally just pushed backward and bent everything and anything (buckled fender, bent radiator and electric fan bracket, dented oil filter, slightly tweaked frame-rail)that was in it's way in doing so. So, sturdy..yes. Too much so lol.
