Anyone had exp. with "Estate" parts on Rockauto?

Recommended Posts

I was looking at the ball joints on rockauto for my 95 Legacy,

and they have Moog which are described as "Estate" from

1994?

But for 12 bucks? It almost seems worth it to try them.

Can you regrease the Legacy joints? It says they can be

on the bj info/pic, but it just seems a copy of the other Moog

ones, the new ones...

?

I think they're referring to euro spec parts with that listing. I can't say with any certainty that they would be the same. But I really can't imagine that they're any different.

I've placed many orders with Rockauto over the last few years and my only gripe about them is shipping is fairly expensive and often slow, but for certain parts the savings they offer over local places is worth the wait.

Ordered a radiator from rockauto, just make sure what you buy is small/light enough that you can ship it back for a reasonable amount of money if it fails within warranty period. My rad failed after less than a year and I would have had to find a new box and pay for return shipping on a radiator. Not happening

Well, to kind of answer my own question, I think in this case Estate means that they inherited or have a supplier who did, some parts from a previous seller who went defunct, bought out etc., and so they have these old parts lying around that still could be used.

In this case the Estate ones have a date that they're from 1994, for 12 bucks apiece, but the regular new Moog ball joints are 30 per. That's the reason I was asking about the regreasing them. In the pic/promo that accompanies the ones on the site, they say Moogs have grease fittings, but are the ball joints on Legacies generally greased or serviced in that way? I could imagine the grease would be pretty well shot sitting since 1994.

Thanks.

You are wrong.

Most of the world has never heard of a station wagon. They call them "estates".

The $13 listing IS for regular new Moog ball joints.

They fit US and Canadian legacys from 09/94 up.

They fit US and Canadian legacy wagons (estates) from 09/94 up.

The listing is pretty clear.

Just because they fit a late 94 doesn`t mean they were manufactured in 94.LOL.

The $30 one is thier up market "problem solver".

Estates (wagons) are not mentioned in this case because they fit all legacys from 09/94 up.
