95 legacy l with 200000 sat for a couple days with not running or starting. When I went to move it the car started fine, but it was difficult to shift out of park to reverse and same for all the other gears. After it was running a while the issue went away, any ideas on what is bad or what's going bad on the car?

 

If I drive it every day I do not notice the issue.

 

The car is a 2.2 L with AT

rusty shifter cable mounts on bottom of shifter pivot

Checked it and it was rusty. Put penetrating oil and it feels much smoother, I think that will do the trick. Thank you so much.

Replace the cable as it is just going to happen again.
