84 subaru gl front wheel assembly question

Recommended Posts

So for a couple days now ive been trying to find this part for my subaru... nobody has it listed...

recently replaced the front passenger cv axle... i noticed that unline the drivers side the washer behind the castle nut is gone... an the part that goes behind that is just about toast... local part stores look at me funny.. according to there books it's just castle nut an washer... but on the drivers side of my car there is castle nut washer then... not sure what to call it... looks like a washer but has a kinda shoulder part then a dome... any idea as to what this is?? id take pics.. but no camera

the chiltons manual dont even show it as being there...

so cunfused...

thank you for your time

Cone washer is a dealer only part. It's actually a mechanical shaft locking ring. Such things are common in machinery but not in automotive.

Does anyone happen to have a dealer part number for that cone washer? I wouldn't mind having a few new ones on hand.

I had two extras out of a wrecking yard, and I've already used those up and am now out of spares.
