distinctive
Im the proud new owner of a 79 4wd wagon that I have drooled over for the past five years. Everything I look at ends at '78 and starts at '80. Do I own a mythical beast never before seen? A leaky mythical beast. Any info would be appreciated, especially parts suppliers and such. Rust
post some pics of your car. I'm sure if you do the subaru guru's on this web site could tell you exactly what year/model you have. I use rockhouseauto.com to get most parts I need, be careful using the local auto parts store they usually don't have the part you need or screw up and sell you the wrong part. moosens
79 begins electronic distributor for the other 49 States. I've got factory service manuals if you need any. Been a lot of them cheap on eBay lately. Axles also sort of change but you need not worry. You body style is called "stage 2" which ran from mid-77 thru 79. Enjoy!
Rust
Wow what a beauty. The rims don't look like factory rims, but they look cool. So this wagon has the single headlight set up, solid color seats and 2 spoke steering wheel. Some 79's have quad headlights, plaid cloth seat inserts, and 4 spoke steering wheels. So did the factory have different trim packages available as options or did they offer DL and GL models. Great find nice to see another one getting back on the road. the sucker king
Mine has the two headlights too- but the extra hookups are on the harness for the quads. I figured it was a dl/gl type thing, but I don't know. Mine also has the same steering wheel. Came with cloth seats. I think the wheels on "Butter" are the calimasters. Didn't know they would fit! Biff- I would NEVER part the car out, I got it running and I drive it now, my plans are spelled out in an email I sent to you a while back, I will give you first shot if I ever want to sell it.
