stinkydogfilms Posted June 10, 2012 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Hi, I am going be towing my 86 Brat (with a 5 speed) 16 miles across town using a 2003 Grand Caravan with a UHaul installed hitch. I am thinking about buying a Walmart tow bar since I need to tow 3 other cars two miles each. Is a tow bar easy and fairly safe to use? Can I just put the Brat in neutral and tow it driving slow on city streets? I will not be towing on the freeway. mcbrat Posted June 10, 2012 Share Posted June 10, 2012 baccaruda said: If you have an LSD in the rear, pull one of the halfshafts before you tow it. shouldn't be an issue, other than will tend to make it push around a curve... which could be interesting for the person driving the tow rig... towing with a tow bar is fine for the old PT 4wds. just be sure to have in Front wheel drive (2wd) mode, and Neutral. you can tow cross-country this way if you want...
