kerandt
Check you drive axles (front)! You won't go anywhere (unless in 4wd) if an axle / CV joint went out on the front.
lostbrat
i did not think of that. I gave my brat to my nephew and 6 days later he called telling me this is what hapenned. working on it tomorrow and sure hope its an axle??? thats easy fix... I have 2 spare transmissions so I am prepared to change that tomorrow.. I was thinking maybe something internal to 4wd shifter, because no strange noises, or so an 18 year old says??? bratman18
Yep, front cv axle went boom. I have had them break before and not even look like it too. All the broken parts stayed inside the boot.

lostbrat
yup, it was the inner cv joint blown up... cup turned but axle shaft did not.. all fixed now... not sure how it broke but all the balls were in the boot. replaced it with another shaft I had and will use this one as a core some day
