Markus56
hey guys im looking at new tires for my 91 legacy. i live in a very rural out of the way area with -40 degree winters and 100 degree plus summers; gravel, dirt and mud roads and a hundred miles from everywhere. I have been looking at these: http://www.amazon.com/BFGoodrich-Mud-Terrain-Off-Road-Tire/dp/B004QGZC5W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339379900&sr=8-1 any ideas? tire size is 215/75/r15 and i have a four inch lift with outback struts and wheel spacers
john40iowa
Don't know if it is a factor; any tires with this aggressive of a tread pattern will be somewhat noisy.

cohophysh
did you have to modify the steering column with that much height?

1997reduxe
You are out in the middle of nowhere. I'll bet it's beautiful though. Always wanted to go to Montana. They have those KM2s if that's what you're going with at Tirerack for 576 bucks plus 90 shipping. I guess the problem for you is going to be finding an aggressive enough pattern for your size tire. Personally I'd try to find something with 4 steel belts, but that may be a fantasy. On tirerack they also have the Duelers and T/A KOs for about 130 each. But they're more on-road than off. If you really wanted to get crazy you could try these, but I don't think they make em small enough, at least with 15 inch wheels, you'd have to go to 16 inch: http://www.quadratec.com/products/92607_10XX_PG.htm (And they're on ebay too) Miata tire calculator just in case you haven't seen: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Edited June 11, 2012 by 1997reduxe

Agree, these tires will be noisy, also, with a chunky tread design, you will get great traction in mud & snow. The down side is the tendency to "scallop" wear, which is not good.
