turbosubarubrat
got her when was i was 13 its turned into a obsession been working on it since still need some parts like tail light for left side and tail gate.(when i first got her she didn't have the roll bar, carpet, seat covers, as good fenders, rear seats, and brush guard.)replaced the door with one from the junk yard with only a small dent above the key hole. had to replace the window though because it was off a hatchback. got some peugeot wheels this winter for $40 bucks gave it a 2 inch lift canopy i got for free last summer in the dalles $30 bumper from you pull it from 3rd gen wagon also have a couple winch bumps and brush guards. traded my canopy with vahidisatbrat to get this one but i had to colk the gasket back on and put new screen on but it was defently worth it because this is the high top even has roof rack and lights! turbosubarubrat
86 brat we got for $350 but some idiot rear ended when it was parked going 60mph:banghead: the guy we bought it from delivered it for $50. Disappointed in seeing it in that shape since the last time i saw it was mint condition and he paid $5000 for it(Sad to say the the guy i bought it from has died from major heart and health problems. i really wanted to show him mine because he like subaru's a lot too). Amazingly my dad drove this crippled brat in are green house in 4wheel driver low with the left rear and right front wheel wells rubbing on the tires prity hard:lol:this is about the best pic the whole truck (it took a hour to open the tail gate with a 8ft crow bar) if u guys didn't know this yet your missing out a ax cuts through 18ga metal like butter:grin:got it ready to go to scrap in picture this is a year old picture. TomRhere
Looking good !! Didn't notice the cat hair until you said something about it. Haven't had a cat in the house in 4 years, still cleaning it up. Stuff gets every where..... For the glovebox door. Thinking I would put 2 more rivets along the center of the bottom row, just to even it out. If you really can't find another Tan one, I have a few extras here. PITA work to fix the tailgate rust, but have been assured that it can be done. Have 2 spare ones, both need rust repair along the bottom. Someday I'll get around to it, other things to fix 1st..... Been somewhat hording parts here myself. EA81 stuff is hard to come by in this area. EA82 isn't much easier either.
turbosubarubrat
u wouldn't believe how many ea82's there are in oregon, my dad has owned 6 of the gl/dl/loyale wagons. but the ea81 and ea71 are a lot harder to find parts for i need to get another glove box door from the u pull it in boring oregon just need to find the right color:)

turbosubarubrat
thinking about using this winch bumper off a 78 my dad got last summer for $100:D and put over my current bumper but have to do some measuring and double checking to see if it will fit, i know i will need to cut four rectangle holes for it to fit through the plastic bumper but i want to make sure that it will fit good before i do it, maybe if it fits good ill make four brackets for it to fit nice:headbang:and put my winch and kc lights on :headbang: Edited December 7, 2014 by turbosubarubrat
turbosubarubrat
took off hood so my dad can pick up motor with fork lift because already got the tranny/motor separated and radiator out to pull the jap import and drop another motor in. turbosubarubrat
yesterday i found out i need to shorten the winch bumper about a centimeter in width between the mounts so it will fit into the bumper slots so it will secure properly but i will also have to make four bracket extensions:popcorn:

turbosubarubrat
yah sadly its been sitting around 4 or more months because it wont pass deq:banghead:we tried putting in a spare motor and that didn't do much better so putting the import back in with a rebuilt carb. hopefully that solves the problem so its road legal, when that happens ill go and try getting my permit so i can drive her:headbang: Edited December 7, 2014 by turbosubarubrat
fastwagn
good work man! i went through a lot of this restoring my 1973 vega gt when i was 15, good to see someone of your generation that is still willing to put time and effort into stuff like this. brat is looking awesome! although...i would have kept the bar rather than the cap, but to each his own and i absolutely LOVE the peugeot wheels, what are they from? if you ever want to sell the bar, i have a couple of worthy candidates... getting an ecm from ivan's imports next week to get the 83 turbo running again, when it does, i'll start tearing down the 84 to prep it to receive the 83 drivetrain. at which point, i may have an even crazier drivetrain to put in the 83 shell... muwhahahahahaha!!! i promise i'll get some pics, camera has died on my phone, so i'll snag the shop camera one day and get some shots of the pair. turbosubarubrat
fastwagn i believe they came of a peugeot 504 or 505 sedan but they can come off the wagon these are the 14in rims but u can get 15's off them too, im running 195/75/14's on them and they rub the very bottom of the fender on sharp turns which can be solved by a adjustment to something in the suspension which will raze it about another inch the peugeot wheels with the tires im running give it a 3inch lift:headbang:the 15in wheels require a lift kit though:rolleyes: Edited June 28, 2012 by turbosubarubrat
fastwagn
cool man! i'll hunt for a set! was going to go 6 lug but these wheels look pretty period correct, and would look great on white. yeah rubbing may be an issue on my 83, i have it dropped down and sitting on gl struts. ivan, pm me your paypal!!
