turbosubarubrat
Just did power windows in my 83 Brat. I used the wiring out of an 84 coupe. I used the complete door off of the coupe and changed the glass rather than install the insides out of them and the wiring is mostly just a sub unit and you may even have the correct plugins already in the Brat. Mine did as well as the plugins for power mirrors. how well do they work?i will need to look at my wiring since i have 4 harneses that are complete just for my brat i have 3 from brats and one off something with a rear defroster. turbosubarubrat
The free parts car which brings this face :unsure:when you look at the rust from it being run on the beach and setting 10 years. But not as bad as the 1st gen brat i saw that was parked less than a mile from a beach and was missing the outer panels do to rust. anybody ever see this rear window setup in a 2nd gen? tons of parts in the cab. and some of the stuff that made it really worth it. like the head rest, seat handles, and seat belts plus a lot of other stuff. turbosubarubrat
a couple more modifactions are coming up soon so . im going to be adding dual step sides to this, i cut the bottom of the panels out for templates off the parts brat so i can make my own and im working on getting the other stepside now, the switch mod went a different direction which is now filled with jb weld in the small spots where the switches where besides the lock one which will still do the same thing but be wired in the 4 toggle swithces right now its done but just needs the inperfections in the paint sanded out(it took 5 coats of primer to get it looing fairly good and completly hiding the power window and lock lettering after i sanded it off), also im adding the upper mounting tabs for the head rest to mount correctly, plus a lot of other small things. Sholing Uteman
I am enjoying your thread, I imported one of those opening rear windows from the USA a few years back . What you said makes sense because most of the dl brats came with a solid rear window which would make people want to upgrade here in the US to a sliding rear window for better air flow since most dl's didn't come with T-tops either. turbosubarubrat
Hope to finish her up this summer since i have everything to put her back together now besides new carpet. Picked up a set of rear hubs, a backing plate and a header yesterday. Not sure if i'm going to use the header on her or not yet. Now i have two complete sets of rear disk conversions just in case anything ever goes bad on one of them. turbosubarubrat
Picked up what was said to be 3.9 LSD or VLSD out of a legacy ss sedan yesterday for $100. This is what it looks like after I steam power washed it. Same splines on stubs which is 23 and same bolt pattern for drive line plus it's going to bolt in directly once it gets oil. Edit: I opened it and it turns out it's a open diff . When i get a LSD carrier i'm going to use this diff though. I bought another set of step sides and a spare tail gate with a intact trim piece well over a month ago. Then i picked up a $15 exhaust at pick n pull with a little other stuff. KiwiGL
EJ22 twin crab could be a sweet setup, but you'd have to fab up some custom intake. Like this one:
