Mr Mike
My neighbor "gifted" me his 1987 GL Wagon, he limped it into my yard about a year ago. I just tried to get it running but cannot get it started. I have been priming the carb with gas, it cranks over great, I pulled a plug and it seems to have spark but it will not start. It seems like it starts to fire and the engine spins faster, but it acts like the timing is off or the spark stops. Any clues on the ignition system would be greatly appreciated. Cougar
The trouble is most likely with the timing belts. Doing a compression check should tell you if that is the case or not.
