Where to buy: transmission cooler line fitting on radiator for 2004 Forester

Recommended Posts

2004 Forest XT Auto/4EAT

This transmission line hose fitting is kinked on my radiator, and I've been told you have to order the radiator to get it!

Anyone know the size/dimensions for it? I'd like to buy another 90 degree fitting to replace it.

Oh, btw? Tranny fluid is flammable! That hose split, hit the exhaust header and I had a little fire down there!:Flame:

Thanks,

Td

parts wanted forum - someone has a radiator lying around?

that doesn't even look that bad, bend it back>!?

get a dedicated trans cooler?

i've taken a few radiators apart - are you sure that nipple/hose isn't cast into the cooler inside the radiator?

i've taken a few Subaru radiators apart - the ATF cooler sits behind the plastic in the tank and is submerged in coolant - i almost feel like the ATF cooler has those nipples all cast into the units as one assembly piece, it is slid into place in the plastic and then the plastic is crimped onto the metal radiator? but maybe they're not all like that or my memory is bad (both very possible).

Just guessing it would probably be a metric thread or possibly British pipe thread. In a right angle like that is probably going to be tricky to find. Would probably have to remove the existing piece and measure it with a thread gauge, then check someplace like mcmaster.com or maybe Amazon's small parts. Getting a used one is probably a lot easier.
