devilbanjo
Hey there looking for an opinion and some info. 97 subaru legacy AT replacing the duty C solenoid. Upon removal it looks as if the transfer drum is pretty notched up from the clutch pack (i have pictures but cant figure out how to attach in the forum). I was wondering if that could keep the clutch plates from moving properly, requiring replacement. Opinion? I can send pics via email. Also when removing the tailhousing the shifter pawl dropped out as i was pulling the housing so i have no idea to the orientation. I have checked around the forum and can't find a pic or a FSM (all i can find is the manual trans). So if anyone knows anything I would greatly appreciate the info. GeneralDisorder
Notches are almost always present. Knock down any rough edges with a file and run it. Should be fine. I always run a file over the edges of the notches and I've never had a problem with binding after a duty-c replacement. GD
devilbanjo
Thanks for the info. I'll lightly file and reassemble. Any idea on the pawl (or more importantly spring) orientation?
