Cyfun
When I bought my GLW, the previous owner gave me a set of KYB GR-2 struts and shocks that he never got around to installing. When I opened them, the two rear shocks don't fit at all. They have no perch for springs, and the mount on the one end doesn't fit anywhere. So I thought these might be for the FWD GL, but the last FWD GL I saw had the exact same rear spring/shock as my 4x4 GL. The model number on these guys is KYB 343056. I've searched for it online, and according to all the sites I've found, it is completely compatible with my car. What a load of crap. I'd like to sell these, but first I need to know what cars they DO fit. Here's a picture:
TheLoyale
EA81 Chassis. 1980-84 GL Sedan/Wagon, 1982-1987 Brat, 1980-87 Hatch. These are for the Torsion rear suspension, as they don't use Coilovers like the EA82 chassis.
Cyfun
That's what I figured, the place sold him the correct front struts, but EA81 rear shocks. Perhaps I should call and b!tch them out, several years and several owners later. In any case, if anyone wants them, I'll make ya a killer deal. Otherwise, I may just fab some brackets and install them along side my existing suspension, just for some extra shock absorption when I'm launching the thing into the air. TheLoyale
What year is your GL? Its possible that the years of the EA81 and EA82 overlap, and the parts store system lists part numbers as such.

'87 GLW 4x4. Not surprising, as we all know the horrors of parts store computers and their ability to still list wrong parts for cars 30 years later. Numbchux
Which is why I always order EA82 parts for an '89 (unless it's something unique to the older years...which isn't much). Too easy to get 1.8l GLs mixed up....
