bcurley
Did a search for this but didn't find a definitive answer. Replacing a radiator in a 1994 Subaru Legacy 2.2L FWD AT. I was wondering if the ATF cooling hoses are standard hoses and if so what they are? The ones on the car are the original and have never been removed. They are showing cracks so figure I would replace them while I'm there. Plus they are stuck pretty good on the radiator so are probably not going to come off in one piece Thanks, Bob
Hocrest
Yeah, it is just standard 3/16" ATF hose. You might need some new clamps too. I like the wire type clamps that come stock. If they are not rusty, I will clean and reuse them before I will use a worm/band clamp.
Ricearu
3/16 or 3/8? I used 3/8" and is a BI**H to get on. at least the dayco trans cooler line is. I would try to find 10mm trans cooler line, and a small tweak of the hard lines takes away the kink in the hose as the stock one's are molded. you could buy them from the dealer but it's a little unnecessary
bcurley
Thanks for the help. Picked up some 3/8" from Carquest and it went on fine. No problem with kinking either. Thanks, Bob
