xbeerd
anyone ever done it? i would assume some custom work to make the shifter and such to line up if you dont have a xt shifter. wondering if alot of the wiring would be the same as far as the dash harness connecting to the body wiring etc. from what i've measured out, the front windsheild line/curve woudlnt quite line up but the sides of the dash should fit between the door panels. some kind of custom door panel would have to be 'made' hmm? i've always like the idea of a xt interior in my wagon. :headbang:
Gloyale
Nothing the same electrically. nothing the same mounting wise. Fabricate it all, and it would be pretty cool. Except that the XT dash is super flimsy, rattles and vibrates.
xbeerd
LOL... thanks for the info, maybe i'll attempt this if a free/cheap XT falls out of my rump roast or someone wants to donate to a cool project. iceageg
Not sure how similar the seats are between a 85 hatch and your Loyale are, but I put XT6 seats in my hatch without too much custom fab. Used the rails from the hatch seats, took a couple of brackets off of the XT rails, used half of the existing hardware, a few new bolts, nuts and washers, some steel barstock cut into appropriate sizes, and done. Not sure about the rest of the interior though. Good luck.
TheLoyale
XT seats will bolt right up in an EA82 if memory serves. Its been done enough times, and always looks good! I like the XT seats. You just gave me an idea for the Ski wagon sometime
rpholz
im going to have to disagree with the dash being flimsy. i had two rattles, both being trim peices, once addressed never heard a peep again
92_rugby_subie
Im putting XT6 seats in Ned when I find some... and have the extra $$ so probably after WCSS. I guess 3 bolts line up, the 4th needs to be fabbed if youre really OCD about it.
TheLoyale
I love the headliner in the XTs, wish they made that style for the Wagons! I wouldn't mind putting XT seats in mine, given I can find a mint set that matches my interior somehow cause I am OCD-Anal!
themoneypit
ive had half a dozen xt/xt6s and never a rattling problem with the dashes. yes the surrounds for the radio/clusters get brittle and crack from the sun, but i try to keep an extra in stock (and knock on wood never needed it). i think it would look cool in a wagon, but would be a huge project...
