clutch disc discrepancy ea82

Recommended Posts

oh ya my bad. splines are identical. checked with clutch tool. the 4 spring came out of one of my cars (loyale probably), and the other disc/pressure plate came with the spare motor i got with the wifes new 88. hmmmmm.......

naw I got the xt6 clutch kit for my EJ22 swap, that didn't match the splines on the input shaft of the transmission. I picked up the regular GL kit, that didn't fit. I tried the clutch that came on my ej22, it fit just fine so I got a new one for that.

ahh ej swap, no wonder. im still driving my dinosaurs around. so, next question; is the one with 6 springs inherently better than one with 4? forgive me, i still havent mastered the physics and internal clutch disc characteristics. i just know how to take em off and put em on. thickness is close enough to call it a push. thanx for the input btw

ok cool, i think ill throw it in just to see. when i have multiple used items i usually dont buy new, that and $$ sucks these days. also, the springs appear to be the same size on both, it stands to reason that 6 would work 50% better than 4. but, like i said i really dont kno
