pearlm30
I just replaced the timing belt, water pump and idlers using the kit I got on eBay. I have heard the Mitsuboshi belt lasts 90,000 miles? Anyone know for sure? Thanks
davebugs
I only installed them on non-interference engines. They do look good though. And supposed to be OEM - but I'd never take that risk. I know of atleast a few that went 100k. Don't know of any that failed - but I sold all of those cars. Some folks called me after 100k wanting me to do the next timing belt change. cal_look_zero
I SWEAR by Mitsuboshi. I had a derp moment on my Montero Sport (See; junk the car if you snap a T belt) and went about 22k miles past the interval. Damn belt still looked new with almost no cracking and was pliable as could be. Needless to say I stuck another one in. I would say it's a 90-100k mile belt, easy. ShawnW
Side by side, I have found nothing that matches the dealer belt like the Mitsuboshi. It even feels the same during installation-some feel tougher or less pliable but this feels the same there too. I see no reason to not trust it and use them all the time. Caboobaroo
Thats all we use at the shop I work for. I have seen them go to the 105k miles timing belt mileage just fine.
