bakerman1
I'm thinking of getting an 82 grill from a wagon at the local pull-n-part to install on my 84 Brat. I wanna know how easy this is to install to see if it is worth it. I like the look and the fact that its something different, but not if its going to be a pain in the rear. I already anticipate having to trim the donor grill, but was wondering if the space for the light and all that is there. Let me know if you can help. AKIRA
The grill is seperate from the light, and there is enough room to fit it (the light). it was not on all 82 models, it was an option, check up close to see if there is a light under there I put a third eye on my 84 brat also (check out the pics in the link in my signature), believe me, it is alot easier and ends up better looking if you cut a hole in the stock grill instead of trimming the 82 grill to fit. with the grill off, you have to do this: cut off the support in the center and replace it with the third eye, I used self tapping screws. wire it up to a doubble pole doubble throw switch (get one at radio shack) and hook the switch up in the dash, I find the "Fifth eye" impresses alot of people by it's sheer weirdness. have fun, this is pretty easey. Qman
The stock 3rd eye grill is for a two headlight system. The grill is larger. I used the stock grill and cutout the hole from the original grill. I also used the original timer and switch. Looks almost stock.
