mike280
I'm looking for a new Y pipe. But I don't want a cat. Are there any options out there for a new y pipe without cat? I have an 86 brat, I'd also like to do away with the Air Suction Valves. Is it true EA82 exhaust bolts up to an EA81 with the ASV removed?
HATCHY
im not sure that the heads are the same size. I think the ea82 is a bit wider. better off Going. to the uffler shop have them Fab You up some. I bought two pairs of equal length. headers. took away the nice Subaru rumble and gave me mile or two more a gallon. and way better response. worth it
wallaby
if you remove the ASV, the standard pipe will be too short - will hit the crossmember(tried this) can you weld ?or know someone? cut the flanges of your old y-pipe, get a couple lengths of tube bent and weld the flanges on, or pay an exhaust shop to do it - its pretty simple , shouldn't be too many $$$$ there is also threads on here some where about the scavenging and flow, that you should decide if thats important to you or not. I am planning on doing this for my Brat but just have to settle on sizes and stuff....still doing some research
Nate E.
I replaced the Y on my EA81 with the Y from an EA82. Bolts right on. The EA82 header length is a bit more 'cause they didn't have the ASV. So the Y hangs down a bit more. I recall seeing non-cat Y-pipes on fleaBay.
