Jeff88DL
I just replaced my very rusty rear door/hatch on my wagon '92 wagon with a mint condition hatch from an '86. Everything lined up fine including the wiring, locks, struts, weather stripping etc. The wind deflector mounting holes were off by 1/2" its pretty much the only difference. The only problem is my dash light is on indicating the hatch is open when its closed. Its a bit annoying while driving at night, also the cabin light stays on! If anyone knows where the sensor is located, it would help me out a ton! Thanks, Jeff
Jeff88DL
Found it. 2 wires going to the latch mechanism behind the trim. I just cut them and now there is no more dash light indication. Not ideal, but I'm happy. Conversation with myself. End of thread.
03Foxtrot
Jeff, I just found your post, mine was doing the same thing and the Chiltons manual was no help. I had pulled the trim panel but was not sure what to check. I will unplug it, thanks for the post. Kris
Gloyale
The switch is in the latch. Remove latch and clean switch usually solves issues. If not replace latch.
