deerhunter
The AWD in my automatic 95 Legacy tranny will not work. Fluid looks good. I looked but can only see about a dozen hoses and wires going into the tranny. Where can I find schematics to fix this? any suggestions?
lmdew
What do you mean by will not work? Does it shift into gear, any gear? Have you checked the shift cable on the passenger side of the car? Most transmission shops do a free analysis, at least in the US. If you disconnect the main plug on the trans it will place it in the limp mode and it should go in 3rd gear. Is the AT Temp light flashing 16 times, when you start the car? If so, the trans computer has a code stored. Check the codes.

mwbean
deerhunter, Check here http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/trans.html Also, I would be helpful if you would provide a little more info on what exactly what's it's doing or what it's not doing. Fairtax4me
Check for a fuse in the FWD fuse holder. Passenger strut tower. Should not be a fuse there. If there is a fuse there, check the driveshaft, the rear half may be gone. (Literally not there) The AWD clutches wear and cause torque bind, and a common fix is to remove the rear section of the driveshaft. Trans still works fine in FWD. some people think they get better fuel economy with the trans set in FWD. Not what the fuse holder is supposed to be for, but people do it anyway.
