AdventureSubaru
1600cc might race a go kart? if you're serious about making the car fast, you're looking at swapping in new drivetrain, engine, suspension and beefing up the body to handle such things. A 76 Subaru is a rare car. Why not restore it? Got any pics?

AdventureSubaru
Subarus are unibodys not frames. Most can be pulled stretched back to alignment. or depending how inventive you are.... I once undid a crunch on a unibody by bashing it with a sledgehammer and welding some angle iron from a bed frame. Not perfect by any stretch but is was a similar set up. $300. Mazda that got me around for over a year.
