Bratworst82
I got a buyer for a bunch of my interior stuff and need to get the window cranks off. Do you just pry them off? I don't see any screws or clips.
rdweninger
at the base of the crank handle (next to door panel), there is a slot there. You may have to rotate the crank 180 degrees to see it. Look into the slot, there is a U-clip there. I use a stiff wire with a hook bent into the end of it to pull the U-clip off. Watch it fly !!! Then just pull the crank handle off. There you go ! El Presidente
Yeah, there's a little disc between the crank and the door card. Just push it towards the outside of the car, away from the crank, you'll see a little gold wire clip. I've found a pair of small needle noose pliers works great, if you open them up and push the clip from both sides, its a little easier. They usually fly off, so be ready. When re-installing, put the clip on the crank handle and then push it on the spline shaft on the door. You'll hear a little click, and then its on. Don't forget the little disc, it keeps the crank handle from wearing through the door card skin. Josh

Bratworst82
I did notice the clip after looking at it today. Will give it another try. Thanks for the responses.
NorthWet
If you press on the clip from the closed side, pressing it against the crank, the legs will will move out of the retaining slots and you can remove the crank without the clips flying. If you plan to do this a lot, you can purchase a "GM trim tool" that slips in and presses the clip.
