Do you have to remove the PCV hose to replace Coolant Temp Sensor?

Do you have to remove the large PCV hose coming out of the block?

Replacing the ECU Coolant Temp Sensor in my swapped 1996 EJ22-ish Legacy.

They all crack when removed so I'd rather leave it in place.

Off to see if I can find out what size that hose is so i can just replace it if needed.

You mean the big one that comes out from the top of the separator place? With the plastic fitting that always cracks and ruins your day?

Yea, IIRC you don't have to remove that, it helps, but it isn't needed. You should only have to pull off the one that goes to the IACV.

It makes the job much easier just to remove the IACV, so if it needs to be cleaned, now is a great chance to do it.

Gary:  I have replaed several of those sensors and I have Never taken the PCV hose off the block.  I haven't removed the IACV either.  It makes the jpb a bit mor tedious, but not removing those extra parts made the job go a little faster.  I also lost less coolant.

thanks guys. where i live it's not convenient to start a job and need

something, and i don't know if it's where i live or what but pretty much

every 1990's or earlier large PCV hose in the block has cracked for me

when removing it.
