wavekayaker
Did you check the brake and clutch cancel switches?
rverdoold
The actuator is vacuum controlled, maybe the tube/hose is porous and leaking.
cohophysh
check the actuator switches down behind the pedals. I know for mine the little rubber grommet fell off and it caused the cruise control to not work. I have heard of others taping pennies, I jut put a bolt in the hole. davebugs
Most cars if a CEL in on cruise won't work. Is it on? Is it working? Just guessing.
nipper
It is one of the pedal switches, a fairly common failure mode on this generation, otherwise the cruise just works till the doors fall off.
uniberp
Clockspring? Horn work? I've seen partial failure. Not a cheap part.
ivans imports
no cel tested clock spring checked vacume lines tested actuator but had no pedal switchs to sub in was the only thing i dident have. I will beep test the switchs and see if thats the problem. Is a bugger cause have to drive it to test it 6 test drives later and still no cruise
nipper
You dont need test switches, just a meter and the ability to adjust them. Usually they just need a tweaking.
cohophysh
Look at the pedals to be sure the grommet is still there and/or make sure the switch is closing when the pedal is released. I worked for hours on the same problem until I found the grommet missing.
ivans imports
i did check the opperation of the switchs they were defanatnly clicking dont know if they were conecting internaly but were phisicaly operating. A'm stuck for 2 weeks on thiss one as its gone back to camp. The customer runs thiss outback on speed controled rds is critical that cruise works as he will get fined for going to fast. Will try again when he gets back to town
