Uberoo
I am wondering if EA82 fuel tanks are bigger than their EA81 counterparts?EA81 tanks are as follows: 4WD Hatch 11.9 Gallons FWD Hatch 13.2 Gallons 4WD wagon 14.5 Gallons FWD Wagon 15.9 Gallons On my 81 hatch I have to re-work all of the rear "frame" because due to bad luck and chance most of it has been ripped away while out offroading. So because I have to modify that area anyways it wouldn't be too hard to mount in a larger fuel tank.My 81 hatch started as a FWD,but the EJ22 sucks the fuel down pretty good at full throttle.. jj421
My owner's manual states 15.9 gallons, but it didn't list any body styles. Mine is a 4WD wagon though.
TomRhere
Only thing I can say is that the EA82 tanks are wider side-to-side, and longer front-to-rear than EA81 tanks. Thinking the width of an EA82 tank would be the biggest issue. Front/rear size can be accomodated by moving crossmembers. Moving framerails would be another story. My EA82 '88 Wagon says it has a 15.9 gallon tank. I have yet to run it dry, and the most I've put in is 13.9xx gallons.
