torxxx Posted March 13, 2013 Share Posted March 13, 2013 got on rock auto to order up a head set today and I decided to email then before I ordered.. Email I got back said that the headset I had chose was for a European SVX. I honestly dont see them making the engine any different other than the throttle body for the cable being on the side of the car. As for as gaskets go, arent they the exact same engine? torxxx Posted March 13, 2013 Author Share Posted March 13, 2013 yah so I figure the headset has to work with the engine. Its 200 bucks, might just bite the bullet. Its got all the valve cover stuff I need, If I order just the valve covers and sparkplug journal seals with grommets is like 100 bucks, so might as well get the set and have headgaskets, intake and seals. ivans imports Posted March 13, 2013 Share Posted March 13, 2013 The usa one i just worked on was different than the canada one my brother has the usa one had a egr setup on ps side the canada egr did not have egr the rest looked exactly the same. I had to buy headgaskets from subaru at 120$ each was not a bad engine to pull down think it took me 8 hours total to do headgaskets and full reseal had a plastic seporator plate update that to same as outback plate Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ivans imports Posted March 14, 2013 Share Posted March 14, 2013 The heads came back realy nice on my planer had to take off 1 thow on ps and a thow and a half on ds side good aluminum had a buety surface when i was done. Is a complacated engine but comes out very nice took me a hour to pull out of car carfull of the fragile vacume lines and egr piping.
