mikaleda
It's in park right? If its not in park the key wont shut off all the way, so it will get stuck.
BlueSoob
yep in park. even tried it in neutral... the key won't turn back to the off position
mikaleda
A couple other things to try are stepping on the brake, wiggle the steering wheel back and forth as your trying to turn the key off, try switching from drive to park a few times in a row, and try turning the car back on and off again and maybe it will come out. If none of that works I would suspect the sylinoid that locks the key in when not in park is malfunctioning.
Pooparu
Try hitting the key with a hammer to push it into the ignition more.
mikaleda
Try hitting the key with a hammer to push it into the ignition more. Really? I would save that for a last resort, if the key isn't turning off it suggests something's binding it up or it's being locked out for some reason. Hitting it with a hammer could case the tumblers to break if they are binding.

mikaleda
Just because it works doesn't mean it's right, like I said I would leave it for a last resort.
