Grinding clunking sound from right front end area when accelerating and turning right.It quits when i let off on gas.... What could it be?...Need your help! ford'ssubaru's Posted April 22, 2013 Share Posted April 22, 2013 Jack up the front of the car. Remove wheel covers. Grab hold of tire and shake sternly. Take pry bar and pry up and down on tire listen for clunking. Inspect axle nut where attached to hub for signs of spinning. Very common to have splines strip. Inspect CV boot carefully if it has thrown the grease out it probably is bad. If the boot is nice and clean though most likely the wheel bearing like posted above.
