mgcwrnch
Removed both orginal fans. Installed a Saab 12" electric where the original electric fan was. Which is best ?? Wire so fan comes on with ignition, there for runs full time, or wire thru new fan switch in raditor so fan runs when hot enough ?? Saab fan moves a lot of air. Gloyale
Thermoswitch or other automatic control (ECU) You don't want your fan running all the time, it will burn it up. Whatever you do, I suggest running it through a relay, with the thermoswitch triggering the ground side of the relay.
mikaleda
Ya thermo switch with a relay would be the best way unless you have a large stock of electric fans and you don't mind changing them a lot Edited April 28, 2013 by mikaleda
mgcwrnch
Have run the Saab fan right now thru what the stock electric fan wiring was. Comes on when the thermostat opens up at temperature. Then keeps the temp down at a uniform level. Should be relayed, protected and running thru a 30 amp fuse as the factory set up. Yes, will not have it running all the time. Thanks for the input !!
