crazyhorse001
Ya know, STi opened its doors in 1988. What if its first road car had been an XT6? What would they have done with FHI's flagship coupe? Those are the questions I intend to answer with my beloved silver XT6, I call Audrey (as in Hepburn). I have quite a bit of work ahead of me, but im starting with an absurdly clean car. She has a few dents from being a target for non-drivers, but nothing too horrible. That said, not one dent was recieved while she was moving lol. This is her, as she is at this moment
natext6
I like it! I'm jamming an STI trans into mine. I'm going 6 cyl tho, not 4 cyl turbo.

crazyhorse001
ej257, 20g turbo, 6 spd trans with DCCD, coilovers and 245 series tire. dooooooo it. I dont think much of that was available in 1988 lol. Besides, im keeping the er27. I like the reliability of a n/a subie 6 Of course that doesnt mean i wont "warm it up a bit" hehehe

crazyhorse001
I want a vintage feel on this build. I have a turbo hood, and plans for true cold air induction. I'm also hunting for an RX bodykit, and vintage Recaros. For wheels, I'm hoping to find some vintage BBS, or Gotti style wheels. I have a spare er27, that I plan on warming up with your basic hot-rodding techniques. You know, cams, headers, a nice port/polish job, and shaved heads for about 11:1 compression. I'll back that up with a 5spd/diff lock trans, and lsd I have. I have the concept in mind, i just have to get it in focus.
AKghandi
http://www.vacmotorsports.com/projectsDetail.php?recordID=7 how bout sticking a supercharger on it?
crazyhorse001
I've seen that before lol. It would be old school with a blower thru the hood lol
zukiru
Did you ever consider that the xt6 was the catalyst for sti opening in 88? And that maybe the 5 lug and cybrid steering and the like were designed by the team that became STi? I often think of the XT6 that way...
AKghandi
I remember reading in a chiltons or haynes(so take with a grain of salt) that the er27 has the same CR as an ea82t, if thats true it would be a perfect candidate for forced induction. either that crazy supercharger setup or what I would do, a rear mount turbo. Basically you just replace the muffler with a turbo and pipe it to the motor. all you need to run is the oil line and boost pipe.
crazyhorse001
Yeah zukiru, thoughts like that are what inspired me. The er27 has the same bore as the ea82, at higher compression. crazyhorse001
Turbo hood goodness.... I'm working on using the scoop for cold air induction. The rest of the hood is under primer, awaiting a decent day to paint it Step 1 in my plans for total world domination. MUAH HA HA HA! Nah, just the driveaway lmao
