crazyhorse001
We've noticed our BRAT has been getting bad mileage (like low 20's). We also noticed a strong fuel smell. We checked for obvious leaks, its not losing it. It's definately running mega-rich. We dont believe it timing related, as it runs very strong, starts, dies, and idles nearly perfect. It has a fresh tuneup, and filters in it also. What steps can we take, other than changing the stock carb?
Twitch de la Brat
Have you run any seafoam through the gas? Adjusted your idle screw at all? Are you driving it like a raped ape? Have you checked the little filter in the corner of the engine bay by the driver's side strut tower? Have you verified you have no vacuum leaks? How long has it been since the carb was tuned/rebuilt? Is it set for your elevation? Is it an electronic carb? Twitch Edited May 6, 2013 by Twitch de la Brat
