Speed & RPM

What year model trans do you have? I know 3.5k is normal at 60 in a 4speed with 3.9 gear ratio

Also an actual legal highway speed limit rpm would probably get more people's attention.

Not normal. If we're talking about an ea car.

95 with a 5 speed DR should be about 4800 rpms.

I know for a fact that 95 in a 3 speed auto is 6,000 rpms. 100 is redline. ;)

I hit 105 in the 5 speed and there was still a bit of gear left. No engine. Just gear.

87 GL Wagon 5 speed ea82 carbed 60mph she runs under 3k

sounds about right i still have the owners manual when the ol lady gets home with the car i can tell you the rpms for each gear but this sounds right i have a 3 speed auto so mines about 4k at 65 and it just keeps going up which kinda sucks so a lil under 3k at 60 mphs sounds aut right for any 5 speed

Cool I think I have mine somewhere, 3rd owner of this wee beasty. 240k mi, no ToD, no smoke, feels like more than 90hp under foot, 40 mpg, put like 20k on her the past year I've owned it (traded a monster 86 F350 for it) went mileage happy I guess XD but hey when the worth of the rig traded is made up by fuel savings makes it worth it lol

in an ea82 yuo would run out of gear by 100 mph

In the auto I did. it was real close to redline @ 100.

The 5 speed still had gear left. I was probably around 5800 rpms at 105, that's a guess though. I know for a fact it had some gear left though, it wasn't close to redlining yet.
