Rule NUMBER ONE: always use subaru oem intake gaskets. I do not always follow this rule.

how are you preparing and installing them? perhaps an intake mani that is out of square with the head or vice versa?

in my earlier motor pullings i would leave the intake in the car and install new gaskets. none have leaked that i know of. ive since quit doing that. You seem to know what youre doing from the posts ive read so id say theres something goin on here.

Thanks for the compiment.  Right back at ya.  So really as far as prep I clean like my other equipment.  I clean the surfaces and apply high-tack to the removeable side and dry.  Install. Maybe the high tack is causing the gasket to squeeze?
