espey_16
I replaced my heads this weekend. When I got them on and went to put the timing belts back on I noticed 2 threads coming out of the bottom hole for the driver side timing belt tensioner. The bolt went in smooth, and I got it as tight as the other 3 tensioner bolts. Today on my way home from work I heard a weird noise so I pulled off the road and opened the hood and saw the driver side belt flopping around. I limped it home (I was only a couple miles away), and took out the fans and radiator that way I could get to the belt. It definatly jumped time, so I went and re-did the timing but my lower bolt on the tensioner is now stripped. Am I screwed, or do you guys think a helicoil will be ok to put in there? ford'ssubaru's
No worries....Threadsert or Keensert.....There is another highquality sert on this sight and a couple of really good threads (not a pun)...
