Fairtax4me
Good fuse? Which fuse? If you mean the black FWD fuse holder on the strut tower, that should be empty. Fuse installed there disables the AWD.
johnceggleston
what he said . or do you have a CEL on the dash? does your speedo work? if your front speed sensor fails, you will not have power to the rear. or if you have a busted rear axle, very very rare, you will have no power to the rear wheels. lmdew
Or Axle popped out of the rear diff. If they are out by a 1/2" the diff will just spin but no power.
Bbob
No, I checked the main fuse under dash. Axles will pop out? Let me see. Where exactly is the "front speed sensor"? By "busted rear axle" did you mean the main carrier or an axle shaft?
ivans imports
When you turn both back wheels drive shaft should turn did you check the awd output housing for groves were the slip rings go ? and did you air check the awd in its housing ? can be tested on the bench
Bbob
I'll check the back wheels turning. Every AWD clutch pack I've ever seen had grooves cut into it. I thought since it worked the day before that pressure and vibration pushed them over anyway. When I had the tail cone off I didn't see any chamber that would hold air. johnceggleston
find a nice safe piece of wet grass, shift into 1 and punch it. maybe an up hill piece of wet grass. or time to open it up.
Bbob
Left front wheel speed sensor shows continuity. Front wheels pulling all & chirping was the first indicator we had to the problem. Please, what would wet grass tell me?
ivans imports
when the tailshaft assembly is on bench install clutch pack into its bore then can air check thru the feed port and see if drum piston moves and locks up pack i take the rear trans output shaft and drop it into pack then i can turn clutches and see if is locking
