Rust
I have a 4 door sedan 1986 ea82 spfi w/ 3spd AT. The rear cross member tube is about to snap in half from rust. I am thinking about converting the car to pushbutton 4wd. I have all the parts from a wagon. I am assuming everything should be a direct bolt up, or is it more complicated than that? Any one done this conversion to a sedan?
leniac
should be a direct swap if you got all parts from the wagon... nuts, bolts, etc....
MilesFox
You may have to invent a circuit to actuate the vacuum solenoids to use the 4wd button. otherwise, it will physically bolt up if you use all the associated parts from the donor car. the running gear fits the same, but you need all the mt mounts and bolts to carry over. if the sedan was 2wd you will need to make a few holes for the diff hanger and make a carrier bearing mount. Disregard if the sedan is 4wd. all the body paneld from the front door forward swap over the same. the rear doors fit the same, but you have to swap the glass between wagon and sedan.
